Good Clean Sport - Youth
Good Clean Sport - Youth is a partnership between Drug Free Sport New Zealand, New Zealand Rugby, NZ Secondary School Sports Council, NZ Olympic Committee, Sport NZ, NZ Athletes Federation and the NZ Rugby Players Association.
The programme has been developed to support and educate young athletes on clean sport within the secondary school environment. Many young athletes tell us that they are considering things like supplements to enhance their performance and feel under pressure to become bigger, faster and stronger. The workshop includes:
- values in sport
- strict liability (personal responsibility)
- decision making
Support personnel (parents, coaches and managers) are also encouraged to attend the clean sport workshops as they have a key part to play in preparing young athletes for a potential sporting career. The workshop will be delivered by one of our team of trained educators, all of whom are former national or international level athletes.
Ideally, 30-40 participants maximum is recommended as the workshop is interactive.
