The Athlete Whereabouts Programme

If you’re an athlete who has been assigned to a testing pool by us or by your International Federation (IF), the Athlete Whereabouts Programme applies to you. You need to provide and maintain detailed information about your whereabouts, whether you’re on holiday, training or travelling, so that we can administer out-of-competition testing at any time. The Whereabouts programme is essential to the effectiveness of our anti-doping programme, helping to ensure fair play for clean athletes and protecting the integrity of New Zealand sport.

File your Whereabouts each quarter

Testing pool athletes need to file Whereabouts information before the start of each quarter and regularly update that information if and when plans change.

  • First quarter: 1 July – 30 September
  • Second quarter: 1 October – 31 December
  • Third quarter: 1 January – 31 March
  • Fourth quarter: 1 April – 30 June
