ALERT: WADA Phishing Scams
ALERT from the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA)
Please be advised that various email phishing scams have been reported in connection with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). In particular, several emails originating from imposturous Internet domain names, purporting to come from WADA, have been circulated. So far we know of the following illegitimate registrations:
We have also been alerted to the fact that some of these emails ask the recipient to click on a link for ADAMS and then enter some credentials such as username, password or email address. Please be advised that WADA would never send an email with such a link for a user to validate or change their password. Should anyone receive an email of this nature, please do not click on the link and we kindly request that you contact ADAMS support immediately. We wish to reassure all stakeholders that, in this particular situation, ADAMS was quickly investigated; and, we can confirm that neither ADAMS nor any athlete data has been compromised.
We would ask you to be vigilant when responding to WADA emails, and to make sure that you are in fact corresponding with legitimate WADA parties. Furthermore, we suggest that you contact your IT department asking them to block all emails coming from or going to known illegitimate domain names, as well as all associated web traffic.
WADA takes information security very seriously and it is taking every reasonable measure to ensure the security of anti-doping data. Please visit the WADA website for more details and further updates.
