Former rugby player Paratene Edwards has successfully overturned an anti-doping decision on appeal to the New Zealand Rugby Post-Hearing Review Body. 

Drug Free Sport NZ initially brought this case based on evidence that Mr Edwards was a registered player with NZ Rugby. While Mr Edwards missed the first hearing due to a car accident, it became apparent at the second hearing that Mr Edwards had been registered as a player by someone else, without his knowledge. This was unknown to either NZ Rugby or DFSNZ.

DFSNZ acknowledges the decision of the New Zealand Rugby Post-Hearing Review Body in the circumstances.
